This Privacy Policy explains how AI Log Journal (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use www.ailogjournal.com,app.ailogjournal.com, and related services (the “Service”).
Questions: ailogjournal@gmail.com.
1. What we collect
Account information
When you sign up, we collect information such as your email address, name (if you provide one), and login credentials or authentication details from the sign-in method you choose.
Journal content
We store the content you create in the Service, including journal entries, gratitude entries, chat messages, overthinking sessions, mood data, personality-test answers, and related notes. This is the core of the product.
Usage and device data
We may collect basic technical information such as browser type, device type, pages viewed, approximate location from IP address, and diagnostic or analytics events that help us keep the Service working.
Payment information
If you subscribe to Premium, payments are handled by Dodo Payments. We do not store your full card number. We receive subscription status and related billing metadata needed to provide Premium access.
2. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Generate AI replies and features you ask for (chat, overthinking help, insights, personality results)
- Remember your past entries so the product can respond in context
- Process subscriptions and prevent abuse or fraud
- Send service-related messages (for example, account or billing notices)
- Understand how the product is used at a high level, so we can fix bugs and improve it
3. AI processing
To generate replies and other AI features, relevant parts of your content may be sent to our AI providers: OpenAI and OpenRouter (we currently use models such as Mercury 2 via OpenRouter). Those providers process the content only so we can return a response to you.
We do not use your journal entries to train AI models.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- AI providers — OpenAI and OpenRouter, to generate AI features you use
- Payment processor — Dodo Payments, to handle subscriptions
- Hosting and infrastructure — services that store or deliver the app and data
- Analytics — tools that help us understand site and app usage
- Legal requests — if required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads based on your journal content.
5. Security
We protect traffic to and from the Service with HTTPS (encryption in transit). Access to production systems is limited. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep your account and journal content while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your entries, chats, and related personal content from the Service.
Some limited records (for example billing history or security logs) may be retained where we need them for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.
7. Your choices
- Access or update account details in the app where available
- Delete your account to remove your journal content
- Email us at ailogjournal@gmail.com with privacy requests
- Cancel Premium from settings; payment changes may also be managed through Dodo Payments
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
The Service may be hosted and processed in countries other than your own. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
