I'm Hardik Taneja. I build AI Log Journal, and I write the posts on the blog.
Why I built it
Every AI reply I got felt like an essay with a suggestion tacked on at the end. "I can also do X for you." I didn't want X. I wanted someone to ask what happened.
So the replies here are short, a few messages at a time, and they ask before they advise. I wrote about what that looks like next to ChatGPT.
The bigger reason is overthinking. When your head is full, journaling helps you see what you feel and why, and your feelings point at what you want. Jealousy is a compass for what you want. Sadness without a reason is still information. But the loop only ends when you do something, which is why the overthinking flow ends with a next step.
What it does
- Chat that goes first. Open it and it asks how your day was. Replies arrive as short separate messages.
- Classic entries. Write freely, then get a read of what you wrote: emotions, the areas of life it touched, small wins, and the people you mentioned.
- It keeps your entries, so you can ask things like "when did I last feel like this?"
- An overthinking flow in three steps: say what's going on, look at it, decide what to do.
- Gratitude entries and mood tracking.
- A free character test. Pick six characters you relate to and get your archetype. No signup needed.
It's a web app with a free plan, no card needed. Premium is $11 a month. Details are on the pricing section.
What it isn't
It isn't therapy, and it doesn't diagnose or treat anything. If things are heavy, use it next to real support, not instead of it. If you're in crisis, find a helpline near you.
Your entries aren't used to train AI models. To write replies, the parts the AI needs are sent to our AI providers (OpenAI and OpenRouter). The privacy policy has the details.
How the blog is written
Posts start from my notes and my own experience, and I review every one before it goes up. Anything that isn't first-hand gets a linked source, and anything about the app has to match what the app does today.
